This is a milestone I am compelled to acknowledge… 27 followers on Instagram!!
For the majority of people this may appear insignificant and not worth mentioning let alone glorify, but I see the world in colour and not in black and white. I emphasize this because I take noticeable pleasure in the small, meager things that are so easily overlooked and undervalued, when in truth, they are what grow and become the things that many consider to be commendable and praiseworthy.
At present I happen to be 27 years of age, which in itself arouses a sense of synchronicity if you happen to be one who acknowledges the science of numerology, or the messages found in numbers to be of any significance or value. I for one can not for the life of me see past the relativity of numbers and what they represent. For example:
“Number 27 carries the qualities and vibrations of the number 2 and number 7. Number 2 resonates with the attributes of intuition, duality and finding balance, mediation and co-operation, sensitivity and selflessness, serving others and your Divine life purpose and soul mission. Number 7 relates to mysticism, spiritual awareness, persistence of purpose, understanding and introspection, spiritual enlightenment, empathic and psychic abilities. These energies combine to make 27 the number of the humanitarian, of harmony, spiritual insights and unconditional love.” Joanna Sacred Scribes, Numerology, The Vibration and Energy of Numbers.
Still, I have reason to be full of myself when I recognize what you, the 27 people who have decided to “follow” me have evoked within. If this number were greater it wouldn’t make me feel any different about myself. Not better, more gifted or talented than anyone else as the number is only a reflection of me and what I associate with it. Some believe more followers equate more importance, but I struggle to understand this notion, and how many of our fellow socialites buy into this dogma. If you had a positive impact on just 1 person throughout your entirely life, would that life be considered a waste because you didn’t impact 1,000,000 people? Think about it.
In my opinion this constitutes an ignorant, naïve and predominantly western way of thinking – which put simply is: MORE. More money, more space, more time, more this, more that, more more more, when nobody cares to stop and think; why do I value more then what I currently possess?
With respect, this dichotomy is fatally flawed, based on a model of external gratification perhaps because we live in a social experiment, where we value ourselves so little and yearn to be appreciated to increase our opinion of ourselves. It is not entirely your fault for thinking or feeling like this when you factor in media advertisement, cosmetic beautification and celebrity stardom to make you feel incomplete with what you have and where you are. All these things play into the hands of the corporations who, essentially, want you feel this way about yourself so you consume more. There could be no major cosmetic company, advertising firm or red carpet affair if there weren’t those in the scores of society to glorify them.
No demand, no supply.
Good health and heart my friends.
